Rod sock – Custom-made rod protection “Made in Germany”
Hello BA community. You've probably already seen our button and banner, or perhaps stumbled across one of our forum posts. We joined the BA Supporter Club a few months ago and would like to briefly introduce ourselves today.
Rutensocke was founded in 2020 as a family business in the midst of the Corona pandemic. What originally began as a solution for their own rods has since developed into a small, specialized manufacturer with a growing fan base. The focus: high-quality rod socks and reel bags that not only protect but also look good and are practical to use – all "Made in Germany".
New brand – familiar problem: Anyone who regularly drives to the water or is out on a boat knows it all too well – scratched rod blanks, tangled rigs, or rattling rods during transport. This is precisely where Rutensocke comes in: Our young company from Salzhausen near Hamburg offers custom-fit protection for a wide variety of fishing rods and reels – developed from practical experience for practical use.
What makes Rutensocke different?
Most rod socks available on the market come from the USA or China and are designed for one-piece casting rods – in Germany, however, two-piece rods are predominantly used. This is precisely where Rutensocke fills a niche: with a wide range of lengths, three different diameters (32, 38, and 45 mm), and eleven colors, almost every rod can find its perfect sock. For those who want a truly customized fit, free made-to-measure options are also available (for mesh socks).
As an alternative to the mesh socks, we also have neoprene socks for casting rods (one- and two-piece! ) as well as for one-piece spinning rods in the product range. The Rod Protector is available as a universal rod protection.
A popular highlight: The Target fish labels Available for perch, zander, pike, trout, carp, and other coarse fish, as well as labels for common fishing styles like spin, cast, carp, and fly. This way, you know at a glance which rod is in which sock. We recently started offering custom printing of the labels on the neoprene rod socks. We also provide reel protection: with perfectly fitting neoprene pockets for spinning, baitcasting, multiplier, or fly reels – also in various sizes.
